Yes! It was the 5th century when performances and theatre originated and the mere concept of a stage was first recognised.
Stages sure have evolved, and thank goodness! With as much diversity as the 10000’s of expo, festival, music, and community events being held all over South East Qld annually, the humble “Stage” has become scalable, lighter, portable, and even semi-automated.
10000 Unique Events Means Even More Unique Locales
The evolution of staging equipment has meant that music concerts, school fetes and festivals can be held almost anywhere. Festival stage hire companies, including us, have needed to innovate, creating staging solutions that can fit and be fully functional in these, sometimes bizarre locations.

Beach Festivals and Stage Hire
Taking advantage of our fantastic Qld weather, beach festivals are extremely popular, they do however, present a myriad of challenges.
- Sand – seems kind of obvious, however our portable, trailer mounted stages can safely be towed into place.
- The Tides – with speedy set-up and pack down, sometimes we need to chase the tides so that equipment isn’t washed away. From being mindful of where the stage is set-up and access, we can advise as the best way to combat this.
- Level Surface – because our stages are trailer mounted, we don’t require a perfectly even surface.
- Safety – crowd control barriers hide and protect the front of the stage (the side of the trailer) and safety barriers block access to the back of the stage.
- Night events – our full stage set-ups are perfect for evening and night events. We include lighting, roof and speakers.
Your typical music festival, school fete or Council family event is held on grass, so why is this type of venue considered unique?
It’s not so much the grass but what’s underneath. If the ground is too soft or has too many holes, then setting up a traditional portable stage could prove challenging. Where do you place all of the feet? Will the stage sink?
The great thing about hiring a trailer mounted stage is that there is minimal contact with the ground. This means that even if there’s a divot or some soggy ground, our trailer stages can be carefully maneuvered to avoid these altogether.
Even with our hydraulic hire stages, only the wheels, and the bottom of the stair handrails, need to touch the ground. Our lighting, speakers and safety rails are all attached directly to the stage or feature their own stand alone frames. This includes stand-alone stage-side signage or PA lifters, safety designed to prevent falling over.
Indoors
For presentations, graduations and shopping centre performances, portable indoor stages are an ideal solution. They don’t require the access as the big, outdoor stages are still efficient to set-up, and allow for a wide range of stage shapes / configurations including; catwalks, plus basic and U-shape stages.
Our indoor stage installation process also avoids causing damage to floor surfaces. Module design distributes the pressure and our lightweight staging design makes for a great staging solution for school gyms and halls.
Ramp / stair rails provide safety measures, protecting those on and off the stage and additional lighting and sound equipment can be added, like PA wings and lifters, plus change rooms.
Backdrops and fabric skirting help finish the look.
In Between Buildings / Structures
In a lot of multi-stage festivals, like the Gympie Muster, Splendour in the Grass, Woodford Folk Festival or Farm Fantastic, the tight ‘squeeze’ of positioning a stage in between existing structures / buildings can occur.
While we do require minimum access and space, our easy to manoeuvre, trailer mounted hire stages allow us to set-up in some pretty unique ‘tight spots’. And where they don’t fit our modular stage solutions offer the perfect alternative.
Tucking stages into little nooks and crannies like this, creates a more intimate vibe. Perfect for hosting many smaller shows, dotted around a larger venue.
Events In Outdoor Car Parks
Some indoor venues are just not big enough to fit the 1000s of people attracted to note-worthy events and performers. So what do you do? Set-up in the carpark!
Popular venues like Eatons Hill Tavern and the Wickham Hotel are just examples of where our stages have been set-up in the car park.
While access is not often the issue in these situations, positioning the stage to allow for maximum crowd viewing can be. We can provide suggestions as to what will work best for your event, including; performer access, change rooms, lighting, sound and crowd control considerations.
